it must be the weekend

i am so stinkin' excited! yesterday i was at a course for two hours. it was all fine and good (very interesting, great people, etc.), but i had to sit still for two hours. you can imagine the amount of ants that had accumulated in my pants by then. i will admit, i was a little hyper on the way home, giddy even. my great mood was slightly set back by a wall i ran into, but after shaking that off, i am confident that this feeling of elation will carry me through a most fabulous weekend.

tonight i am going out with a friend i haven't seen practically forever. tomorrow i am playing downtown all day. there's the lunar new year festival, missions fest, and something else fun and exciting that we are going to check out (i remember now!). and sunday is always a beautiful thing. oh and, of course, there will be food!

i hope everyone else in bloggerdom has a super-fantastic-amazing weekend too!

cough, cough

Dear Ciggy Eating Neanderthal,
Thank you for displaying your initials on your license plate. Next time you feel the need to pollute the air while attempting suicide (or "smoke" as the cigarette companies like to refer to it as) please remember to keep your window closed. Like it's not bad enough that i'm stuck at a standstill on the gawsh darn bridge for 20 minutes;* i can now start subtracting time from my already fleeting wisp of a life because i have to inhale your heinous second hand smoke that's barging into sylvia's ventilation system. We are both very angry with you and hope you pay attention to those jafar-looking pictures on the cig box.
Thumbs-up!
Sylvia et al.

*probably b/c two stupid girls, who were never taught how to drive properly, bumped into each other and thought it necessary to hold up rush hour traffic while they exchange numbers instead of pulling off to the side of the road. note to horrible drivers: your car will not be damaged further, nor will you be struck by lightening by simply waiting until a more opportune time (i.e., once you've moved out of my bloody way) to exchange info.

true patriot love

Well, we did it. Our great nation has successfully survived another federal election! Congratulations Mr. Harper, may your term in office be one characterized by wisdom and courage!

*ahem* moving right along...

Why is it that people feel the need to_______?

hampster exchange anyone?

my hamster is half dead, peeps. you know, the little gapher that runs around in your head, causing you to think thoughts and such? well, at first i thought maybe the treadmill was rusty, but no, i think it's the hamster.

easy as 1, 2, 3

Okay, so i have three thoughts in my head today:

1. Crows are disgusting garbage guts (especially funny when heard from the mouth of a lisping, british-accented 6 year old). I hate watching them rip apart everybody's garbage and strew it across the street.

2. I wish i had gone to see Bryan Adams at the Garage last night. *sigh* He's so great.

3. Why do our athletes have to be so annoying?? Despite our speed skating queen's defense of these people, it's still insulting to decline, no? mais oui!

powder this!

i'm sorry. it just has to be said. boy bathrooms stink!! i'm not even joking or just being mean. they stink. in fact, they reek! you'd think with the number of girls in each herd that heads to the bathroom several times a day that the stench would be a little more balanced. but every time i have to walk past the boy bathroom on the way to the little girl powder room i involuntarily dry heave at the heinous malodorousness assaulting my nostrils. will someone please explain to me why the freak this is and, more importantly, how to fix it.*

*please do not suggest putting those little blue minty-looking things in there-- i think they are contributing to the problem.

sudo-yourself

In a shocking turn of events, anika has managed to get me hooked on something: Sudoku! It took me practically forever to figure out how to get through a whole puzzle, but now i can whip one off before you can say, "bob's your uncle...this term may come from the Irish politician Balfour who in 1887 was unexpectedly promoted to the vital front line post of Chief Secretary for Ireland by his uncle Robert, Lord Salisbury. this stroke of nepotism is said to have inspired the term." See? I'm practically a pro at it!

These 'influences' started out rather harmless: CSI, necklaces, AE jeans, chili... but now it is starting to progress to things like Sudoku, Lost, and the now infamouse "thumbs-up."

Where will it all end......?!?!

chocolat

i must confess that i do like that johnny depp movie. oooh! j.d.* is in that movie and Charlie and the chocolate factory-- he must love chocolate. and so i love him.

i was just thinking about (and enjoying!) the deliciousness of chocolate, and i think that there are several things that would be vastly improved by being made out of chocolate. these include, but are not limited to:
-pencil erasers and pen lids
-orange peels
-cell phone antennae
-cd cases (b/c once they are in your book, you don't really need the case anymore)
-chicken wing bones
-celery (without the stringy pieces)
-tofu
-remote controls (so you could just eat it if you didn't want someone to change the channel)
-lips

*i found it quite endearing that jacob signed his christmas cards this year as "j.d." what a cool kid!

Things that make me laugh out loud

-Anika forwarding bm tips to Andrew, unbeknownst to her
-Jacob cutting his own hair
-Anika mocking Lucy (who, sadly, looks like i did at that age) from the original The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
-Winsor pilates (sorry, nikol, but she just cracks me up; don't worry, mari makes me scream as well)
-Blowing kisses to people with road rage :)
-Stewie from Family Guy (he is the ONLY redeeming factor in that wretched show)
-Whistling Joy to The World with my sister harmonizing

hu-hu-hu... you're funny.

I've returned to the land of the living!! I must say, despite the mound of catch up work i will have to tackle today, i much prefer getting back into the routine to lying drained in bed all day.

Sadly, i have no scandals to report, since i've been out of comission the last three days. But fear not-- i fully intend on making up for it. :) This will be accomplished much easier with the return of my soulmate! Oh, this is so fantastic.

p.s. Andrew, i'm glad you took a bic to your head.

to blog or not to blog

...that is the question.
other questions that plague me:
why did i do that?
why am i not rich?
when am i going to get to see pride & prejudice?
why didn't i let go?
when will those damn pests leave us alone?
how much is enough?
and last, but certainly not least,
what's for lunch? :)
