My darling husband bought me this:

And i LOVE IT!! :)

p.s. trying to edit or do pretty much anything on my new macbook is soooo frustrating. but i hope it's worth the learning curve in the end.
p.p.s. the aforementioned new macbook is also a gift from my oh-so-wonderful husband.

school starts...

So, i love being in nursing school.* It's sooo interesting learning about the awesome functioning of our amazing bodies.

I was accepted into the U of A nursing program, but didn't have a high enough GPA to get into the Edmonton (main) campus. Instead, i have to drive an hour and a half (each way) to a little tiny town called Camrose and go to class there. While, of course, this is mildly irritating since i now waste 12 hours of each week sitting in my car (not to mention the stupid amount of money spent on gas).** However, i am now quite pleased and agree with Garth that "some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayer." This is evidenced by the fact that i have only 20 people in my class, instead of 300+ that would be at the big campus. Also, my teachers are so fantastic. I have one teacher for three out of five classes and she rocks. She is super sweet and makes things interesting. (She kiiiiiinda almost reminds me of Sydney, the annoying doctor from Grey's Anatomy, but she's NOT irritating, just endearing). She does an excellent job of fostering a great learning environment. No question is a dumb question (even if we should have learned it from our readings) and she is very encouraging.

For example, sitting in lab last week, she was going around asking us questions about the lung examinations we were about to practice.
Teacher: Chucky, would this be in the top or the bottom of the lung?
Chucky: um.... bottom?
Teacher: (Smiling encouragingly) Nooooo...
Awkward pause while she gives him time to think and he's thinking, "you must be joking"
After it becomes evident Mrs. S is waiting for a response...
Chucky: Top?!
Teacher: RIGHT!! Very good! (Pleased as punch that her brilliant students have figured something out)

LMAO... Driving home that day he was like, "how the heck could anyone get that wrong a second time?!?!"

So you see, she is very sweet and a great teacher, but sometimes she makes us chuckle.

*This love for nursing school is in spite of the fact that my week consists of:
17 hrs of class time
12 hrs of driving
40 hrs of reading (which i haven't yet been able to finish all the assigned readings in yet)
one 10 page paper
one 2 page write up
3 quizzes
1 test
Slim to none chance of spending quality time with my new (extremely gracious and patient) husband

**This is made more bearable by my friend, Chucky, who i pick up half way there. I will try to post stories from our driving adventures later, but mostly they are quite jeuvenile and funny to only myself.

Some long awaited Wedding Pics

We should be getting our photographer's wedding pics back soon, but i will post a few of these for now... :)

***I would just like to take a moment to say how much i cannot stand blogger at this moment. I had nice little comments for all my pictures, but blogger buggered them all up. So you get to read the comments all at the beginning. It can be like a little game... find which picture matches which comment... Too much? Ok. Well, good luck.***

I was fashionably late for my own wedding. And i couldn't look at JM while i walked down the aisle with my Daddy because i almost started crying... happy tears, don't worry.
I am such an awesome bride-- after receiving a ring worth thousands of dollars from my man, i found him a really cool ring. On ebay. For 1.25. 'Nuf said.
How cute are my flower girls?! (Who also happen to be my nieces). SOOO CUTE!
Wedding Party: My two sisters and my best friend. JM's best friend, his brother, and his cousin.
Picture taking was so fun!
The flowers alone were enough to make my day!
Kissy, kissy, we're so happy, falalalala
Another masterpiece by my brilliant Momma
