b/c blogs w/no pics are boring

This is Noen and I at Cass&Gabe's wedding. I look chubsy (hence the close crop, haha) and he looks hot-- even after i convinced him to unbutton his shirt (a bottle of wine later, haha), but here we are. And we had a great time.

And, no, he's not cross-eyed; he's just talking to Phil whilst Ani clicks away.

My mumsy is an expert cake decorator. She is amazingly talented and beautiful. She made this cake for Cass and Gabe. I can't wait until my wedding day when her most fabulous masterpiece will be revealed. Yay!



This is an extremely random picture of Anika and I from last year. I'm not sure why i kept it or how i feel about it. lol. But we are having fun and that's the main thing!

sleep or love?

How do people do it? Staying up all night and then going to work bright and early sounds neither fun nor exciting. I left Anika's around 10 last night (after catching up a bit on S&TC) and went home and straight to bed. [Anika, being the love-sick girl she is, probably stayed up half the night with her man]. I fell asleep as soon as i hit the sheets and only woke up once to stop my phone from beeping-- it was a message from Noen that started with "Hi, this is a message for Sleeping Beauty..." How cute is that?!

i picked blackberries and got a prickle stuck under my skin, which i had to carve out today to prevent infection. i should be a nurse.

3 random thoughts

I have a floor! After four hours of unpacking, organizing, and shuffling, i have discovered, that yes, indeed, my new home has floor space. I will not be taking pictures for at least a couple of more weeks, until it's you know, liveable. JM is supposed to be coming over at the beginning of next month, so hopefully he will feel inclined to spend a whole day fixing up my apartment. :)

I, like 63% of the earth's population, am trying to lose weight. This is neither fun nor exciting. Those of you who know me (or have corresponded with me more than once) know that i am only a fan of things that are fun and exciting. However, i suppose it will be nice to be, well, smaller. So that's all i have to say about that.*

On a happier note, Cass's wedding was so completely gorgeous. (See Ani's for pics-- i need to invest in a camera.) It was a beautiful, fun, perfect day. Noen, as you may have seen, came with me and was so handsome in his suit. The bride was stunning and a good time was had by all. It makes me want to get married...

*FYI, surprisingly, i am not looking for ideas or suggestions on why i am fat or how i can lose weight. Inappropriate responses include, but are not limited to: "oh, just don't eat after (insert magic hour here)" or "well, you do eat too much (insert any number of hi-cal foods i indulge in)" or "you eat too many big meals, just eat smaller portions more often" These do not encourage or motivate me; they merely tick me off.
An appropriate response could be: "yay, good for you!" or "you can do it!" or "you are beautiful just the way you are, but good luck just the same" or "i love you" etc.

New Developments

Things you may have missed in my life the last couple of weeks:
*A family friend died (he was 65)
*We drove 13 hours, through the night, to go to the funeral
*I was in Smithers for a day, then drove back-- again, all night
*It was a good time, better than most weddings i've been to even
*I was at a work conference last weekend (it was good and not too boring)
*I rented a bike and rode around the sea wall on Monday
*I had a nasty fever on Monday night and bedridden all day Tuesday
*Now i am feeling much better, save for a gross cold-- who gets a cold during a heat wave anyway?!
*Anika continually harassing me about my poor blogging habbits
*Esmeralda, my beautiful fish, survived my trip to Smithers; she wasn't fed for 3 days. But that is okay, because i don't like pets and don't have one; she is merely a decoration.
*Cass is getting married TOMORROW. woohoo!
*I foolishly volunteered to help do the bridesmaids' hair at 7 a.m. and pick up the special Trinny food across the river before the ceremony, which is at 1 p.m.
*Noen is my date for the wedding. dun dun duuuuun... to be continued.

i almost forgot

seriously, i haven't posted for sooooo long that i can quite understand if nobody even remembers this poor little blog exists. as you can well imagine, several things have happened in the last month. these may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• 3 doctor's appointments (no, i am not dying. yes, i might need my tonsils out. yes, i am still gaining weight. but remember, voluptuous is much better than scrawny, right guys? right!)
• working, working, working. and more working.
• moving, moving, moving. and more moving.
• setting up my very own new home. (well, technically it's harry's, but i rent the bottom from him).
• convincing myself that my friends are wrong; harry does not have creepy cameras set up in my suite to spy on me.
• dancing around naked, just to prove my point. (harry did not look at my any differently the next time i saw him).
• spending a few days in sunny kelowna. gotta love the central a/c.
• trying to convince our dad to take us on vacation
• drinking too many belinis. if i drink any alcohol, i get tired and tip over.
• O Canada! celebrating my nation's birthday by finishing my move.
• playing at the waterslides. (i went on a dozen slides and took pictures and rested and ate and drank and had a jolly good time)
• visiting with maria (a bff from highschool) and some relatives who all flew in from out of town last week.
• soaking up the joy of life...

mid-chicago-night

I would just like to say that i have tried, many times, to blog since my last post. However, blogger would not cooperate. (I also tried commenting on your blogs and couldn't). -sigh-

Moving right along... Funny thing happened last week. I was text messaging late at night and connected with a kid. I may be cake,* but guys like me just the same! I sent a text to the wrong number and spent the next hour chatting with a young'un. Haha
